Description

Kent Mining Museum are looking for volunteers to help with the running of their fortnightly children’s Saturday Club. The drop-in style club takes place in the museum, and there are simple activities to engage young visitors including crafting and colouring. You would set up before, and pack away after, the session and engage families and children during it. You will usually be helped by former miners who also volunteer at the museum.

What rewards come with volunteering, and how does it create meaningful change?

This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with families and children in the mining museum. It is relaxed and sociable and you will meet new people and have fun!

There is no need for volunteers to have a mining background or knowledge.

Requirements

You will arrive at the museum around 10am every other Saturday and set up the pre planned activities for an 11am start and, after the session ends around 2pm, tidy up. During the session you will be chatting and engaging children and their families.

A basic DBS will be undertaken
