Description
Dover Swap Shop is a bi‑monthly community event in Dover where people can swap unwanted items instead of throwing them away, helping to reduce waste and support reuse.
Additional support is required to assist the team with administration tasks, project planning and delivery and on the day support as well.
This role will be supporting the main management team with the following but not limited to:

Hiring a van for events
Conducting DBS checks for volunteers
Supporting with managing volunteers
Reviewing existing policies and protocols and updating where applicable
Promoting and advertising upcoming sessions and adverts on social media
Responding to emails; on average 3-4 a week received

Requirements
Communication skills, organisational ability, and confidence using PCs and common applications such as Outlook, social media platforms, and basic admin tools.
Access to their own laptop/device to manage admin is preferred.
Previous experience in administration, volunteer coordination, event planning, or project support roles.
- Ability to commit 5–10 hours per month
- Must be 18+
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willingness to support occasional weekend or on‑the‑day event activities
- Comfortable engaging with volunteers, partners, and members of the public
- An understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality (training can be provided)
