Description

Dover Swap Shop is a bi‑monthly community event in Dover where people can swap unwanted items instead of throwing them away, helping to reduce waste and support reuse.

 

This role will be someone who has a Category B licence that can drive a van to and from the Dover Swap Shop events.

It would also be advantageous if the individual could support with loading and unloading at the start and end of each event.

Requirements

Full Category B driving licence and confidence driving a van

Good level of physical fitness to support with lifting, loading and unloading items

Reliability and punctuality

Ability to follow instructions and work safely

Good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team

Previous experience driving vans or transporting goods

Experience working at community events, markets, or similar settings

Basic organisational skills

Positive and helpful attitude when dealing with volunteers and the public

Must be 18+

Comfortable driving distances within the Dover District between Dover and Deal

Able to support occasional weekend events (Swap Shop runs bi‑monthly on a Saturday)

Willing to assist with setting up and packing down event equipment at both the storage unit and the event location

A practical, hands‑on approach and awareness of manual handling safety

8 hours every other month depending on event schedule
