Description

To provide long term, consistent support to a young person in foster care, who needs the advice and guidance of someone who is not considered a “professional”, but who instead is a valuable, trusted adult who has a passion and commitment to be there to listen to their worries and problems, and help wherever possible.

You will be matched with a young person who shares your hobbies and interests, and you will meet your young person once per month, for 2 or 3 hours.

Support provided, and all travel and activity expenses will be paid. Work with us today and change someone’s life.

Applicants need to live in Kent.

We provide full training and support from a YLF Coordinator, and you will join a team of YLF volunteers across the county, being invited to regular YLF celebration events.

Your support to young people struggling in the care system will leave a lasting impact in their lives.

Requirements

Be free to visit with a young person who is matched to yourself, once per month, engaging in a fun/educational activity and providing them with a consistent person to speak to.

The role requires someone with time (3 hours per month), commitment, a good listener, a good timekeeper, to ne non-judgemental and resourceful.
